Megan Hill Named Conference USA Hitter of the Week

IRVING, Texas - Southern Miss junior Megan Hill was named the Conference USA Hitter of the Week announced today by the C-USA office.
Hill hit .538 last week (7-for-13) to help the Golden Eagles to a 4-1 week with series win over East Carolina and non-conference wins over Nicholls State and a Baylor team that is receiving votes in both national polls.
The junior hit two doubles and a home run and accounted for nine of the team's 16 RBI, including five in the game two win against East Carolina. She recorded three RBI against Baylor with a bases loaded double to propel Southern Miss to the 4-3 win. She has notched a league leading 13 doubles on the season.
Hill finished the week with a .923 slugging percentage and a .600 on-base percentage, while going 2-of-2 in stolen bases. This is Hill's second career weekly honor and her first in 2009.
Southern Miss returns to action when the Golden Eagles travel to Huntington, W. Va., to face Marshall in a three-game series, Mar. 21-22.
