HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss went through its second practice of spring drills here Wednesday and the team utilized a 2 hour, 30 minute workout in shorts and helmets at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility.
Coach Larry Fedora liked the way his team has progressed over the first two practices and thought the Eagles went through another strong effort on this day.
"It was a great practice, the attitudes have been great," said Fedora. "The only guys having any trouble with the execution are the new guys, so that's a good sign."
Still, Fedora knows that real test will come when the team puts on pads for the first time on Friday for the next practice. The Eagles are slated for a late-afternoon workout.
"In the first two days you are in shorts and everyone is fired up and moving around really well and everyone is excited," Fedora added. "It is good to see that, but that's not how the game is played. So until we put the pads on and get some bumps and bruises and see how these guys handle adversity, we will not know what kind of team we will have."
