STARKVILLE, Miss. - Southern Miss rode a four-run, second inning and then hit consecutive home runs two inning later to defeat Mississippi State, 7-3, here Wednesday afternoon at the MSU Softball Field.

With the score tied at 1-1 in the second, Lauren Castellvi drew a one-out walk. It was Hill who tripled to open the game an inning earlier and scored on a Pilgrim single for the game's first tally.
After a hit batsman, the second-inning scoring continued when Pilgrim delivered another RBI single to score Courtney Hill and Megan Hill doubled home Casey Jo Matthews to complete the scoring and put the Eagles up 5-1.
