* Captains for Southern Miss were defensive back Eddie Hicks, defensive lineman Cordarro Law, offensive lineman Cameron Zip, wide receiver Johdrick Morris and wide receiver Quentin Pierce.
* Today's attendance was 30,541.
* Southern Miss improves to 5-3 on the year.
* Southern Miss is now 22-7 all-time against Tulane and 12-3 in Hattiesburg. They have won the last five meetings and the last seven in Hattiesburg.
* Southern Miss is now 7-5 in conference games under head coach Larry Fedora.
* The Golden Eagles are now 70-27 overall and 36-13 at home in Conference USA games.
* The Golden Eagles are 10-1 when leading at the half under Larry Fedora.
* Southern Miss is 7-3 under Fedora when scoring 30 or more points.
* Redshirt junior Martevious Young completed 13-of-15 passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns.
* Young connected with DeAndre Brown touchdown passes of 22 and six yards. Young now has three touchdown passes on the year.
* It was Young's first multi-touchdown game.
* Brown's now has four touchdowns on the season and 16th of his career, tying him for fourth in Southern Miss history with Shawn Nelson (2005-08).
* It was Brown's first two touchdown game since Memphis in 2008.
* Senior running back Tory Harrison finished with 93 yards on 12 carries.
* Harrison's four-yard touchdown run was the fifth of the season and 19th of his career.
* Senior running back Damion Fletcher ran for 74 yards on 16 carries.
* Fletcher now has 4,885 yards on the career, moving him into 23rd-place in NCAA history, passing Colorado State's Steve Bartalo (1983-86).
* Freshman running back Tracy Lampley's two-yard touchdown run was his first career rushing touchdown.
* Southern Miss has now forced a turnover in 19-of-21 games in the Larry Fedora era.
* Junior placekicker Justin Estes' 23-yard missed field goal in the first quarter snapped a streak of eight consecutive field goals.
* The Golden Eagles held their opponent to under 100 rushing yards for the fourth time this year, as they kept Tulane to just 54 yards on the ground.
* Redshirt junior defensive lineman Anthony Gray forced and recovered his first fumble of the year. It was his third career forced fumble and second recovered.
* Freshman defensive back Jamie Collins returned a 16-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the second quarter. It is the second fumble recovery for a touchdown this year. Martez Smith returned a fumble against UCF (9/12).
* It was Collins' first career fumble recovery.
* Senior defensive back Andre Watson returned C.J. Bailey's blocked field goal 77-yards for a touchdown. It was the first blocked kick returned for a touchdown since Rod Davis returned on 61-yards against USF in 2003.
* Redshirt senior defensive back Eddie Hicks intercepted his fourth pass of the season in the fourth quarter. He now has 12 career interceptions.
* Redshirt sophomore Korey Williams recovered his first fumble of the season and fourth of his career.
