HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Lauren Sears, freshman middle-blocker from Ashburn, Va., is this week's Southern Miss Player of the Week.
Sears tallied a team-high 25 kills with a .381 attack percentage over the weekend in helping Southern Miss win its second tournament this season. The freshman averaged 2.50 kills and 1.20 blocks per set and recorded seven digs.
She is currently second on the team in total blocks with 27.
The Southern Miss volleyball team is off to its best start in school history at 6-0 under Head Coach Ricci Luyties.
