HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The second of six Golden Eagle football luncheons returns Friday on campus at the Thad Cochran Center Ballroom at 11:30 a.m. . The luncheons, which take place on Fridays prior to each home football game weekend, will run for an hour. Coach Larry Fedora is slated to speak at noon and it will be Golden Eagle fans' last change to find out about this week's opponent, Marshall. The meal is buffet-style with the cost of $10.
"We are extremely excited about the new format and location of our football luncheons," Southern Miss Director of Athletics Richard Giannini said. "We had a good turnout for the first luncheon, but we want to make sure that our fans on campus - our faculty, staff and students - are aware of what we are doing and we want them to be a part of this event."
Faculty, staff and students can use their campus Eagle Dining Dollars to purchase their lunch.
There will be four more luncheons held the Friday before every home football game during the season. The dates for these luncheons are October 3, October 10, October 31, and November 14.
The Thad Cochran Center is located on campus just west of the football stadium. Parking for the luncheons will be available in the Chain Technology Building parking lot located on the corner of Golden Eagle Avenue and Black and Gold Drive (directly east of Pride Field and the Payne Center).
