HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team completed their second of three two-a-days in the 2008 fall camp with both practices today at M.M. Roberts Stadium.
The Golden Eagles were forced to work out inside "The Rock" and on the artificial turf due to the heavy rain that fell in the Hattiesburg area most of the day and throughout both of the Golden Eagles practices.
"Today was a great day of practice in the rain," head coach Larry Fedora said. "We practiced in the rain for probably about 85 % of the two sessions today."
The Golden Eagles took advantage of the wet conditions to work on wet ball drills, quarterback-center exchanges, throwing and various other game elements that could be affected if forced to play under wet conditions.
The Golden Eagles worked out in shorts and shoulder pads for both practices and will return to the gridiron tomorrow for the 14th practice of fall camp in full pads.
The team is scheduled conduct their final two-a-day practice on Thursday.
