HATTIESBURG, Miss. - This week's Golden Eagle Player of the Week is Golden Eagle volleyball player, Maia Ivanova.
Ivanova, a 5-10 Junior from Sofia,Bulgaria, has put together an impressive eight-game streak of double-digit digs and recorded back-to-back double digit performances this weekend against Conference USA rivals UAB and Memphis.
The Golden Eagles also snapped a seven-match losing streak against the Memphis Tigers, which dated back to 2003.
Ivanova averaged 4.75 digs per set and recorded 4 aces.
The Southern Miss volleyball team now hits the road for four-straight matches, beginning at Rice and Houston, Oct. 17 and 19.
