Softball Suffers 5-0 Shutout in Game Two

TULSA, Okla. - Southern Miss softball recorded only hit in the 5-0 shutout loss to Tulsa, today, in game two at the Donna J. Hardesty Softball Complex.
The Golden Hurricane scored first in the second contest. Kelli McGlasson reached first base on a free pass from pitcher Shea Naramore, advanced to third on a hit from Sara Dyer and scored on a sacrifice fly from Jackie Lawrence.
Tulsa added two runs in the fourth and sixth innings to extend the lead over the Lady Eagles, 5-0.
Brooke Smart led off in the fourth, drawing a walk, advancing to second on a fielder's choice and scoring on a single from Angela Osbon. Stephanie Chomicki, who reached first on a fielder's choice, advanced to second on Osbon's hit and scored when Lauren Lindsay grounded out to second baseman Lauren Castellvi.
In the sixth, Osbon notched her fourth home run of the season, a one-out two-RBI shot over the left center field wall, to score Chomicki.
Southern Miss (18-33, 8-10 C-USA) notched only one hit, a single from Castellvi, and stranded four runners.
Tulsa (27-25, 10-9 C-USA) finished the contest with five hits and left five runners on base.
