Lady Eagles Travel to McNeese State for Midweek Doubleheader

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss softball team will travel to Lake Charles, La., to face McNeese State in a doubleheader on Wednesday, March 21, beginning at 5 p.m.
This will mark the 26th time the two teams have met since first meeting in 1988, with Southern Miss having a demanding 22-4 advantage over the Cowgirls. The last meeting took place in 2006, in which the Lady Eagles came away with a 10-2 victory.
McNeese State is led by first-year Head Coach Chris Malveaux (Texas A&M, `01) and currently holds an 11-21 overall record. The Cowgirls are 4-2 when playing at home this season.
Southern Miss enters the contest, coming off of a 5-0 loss to C-USA rival UCF on Sunday, March 18, while McNeese State is coming off a 5-4 win over Birmingham Southern on Sunday.
First pitch is set for 5 p.m. with the second game beginning at approximately 7 p.m.
