HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss softball team will host Louisiana-Monroe on Wednesday, February 28, in a single game, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Southern Miss Softball Complex.
Louisiana-Monroe holds a 20-12 advantage over Southern Miss since the two teams first met in 1983. The last meeting was in 2005, when the Lady Eagles claimed a 5-4 victory over the Warhawks.
Southern Miss (4-9) enters the contest following a 1-0 loss to Louisiana Tech on Feb. 25 at LSU's Easton Purple & Gold Challenge. ULM (11-6) is coming off of a 4-0 win over Sam Houston State, also on Feb. 25.
The Lady Eagles' defense is led by junior pitcher Shea Naramore (3-9), who has recorded a 7.68 ERA in 70.1 innings pitched with 26 strikeouts.
The offense is led by freshmen Megan Hill, Brandi Alonzo and Logan James.
