She was named Sugar Bowl Student-Athlete of the Month for January and C-USA Player of the Week on Jan. 15. The 5-8 guard is a member of Tulane's 3.0 club and academic honor rolls. Montagnino guided Tulane to its first outright C-USA regular season title. The Green Wave shared the crown in 1997 and 1999. She's currently the program's 17th all-time scorer. She ranks among the league's best in four areas, but is the 10th best in the NCAA and leads C-USA in free throw accuracy, with a .903 (102-of-113).
Reed and Chaney were most recently named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team, which qualifies them for Academic All-American honors next month. Reed ranks 11th in the nation in free throw percentage with an 89.4 clip, while Chaney ranks fourth in the NCAA is assists per game, dishing out 7.03 per game - a C-USA best.
Reed had a stellar freshman campaign, earning C-USA Co-Freshman of the Year honors. She was voted to the all-league second team and named a National Strength and Conditioning All-American. The biological sciences major sports a 3.69 GPA and has appeared on the President's Scholar list twice and appeared on the Conference USA Academic Medal list (3.75 GPA or higher). Reed ranks in the top six in the league in scoring (15.3 ppg), free throw percentage (.894), 3-point field goal percentage (.381) and 3-point field goals made per game (2.37).
Chaney was also a Conference USA Academic Medal winner and a three-time Dean's Scholar. She has a 3.75 GPA in Sport Administration and is a member of the Distinguished Leadership in Coaching and Sport Administration. The 5-4 senior point guard accomplished the league's third triple-double in an 85-59 win over Memphis on Feb. 15. She finished the game with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. She's the team leader in assists (7.03) and steals (2.17) per game.
Miles is a criminal justice major that has a 3.30 GPA. She also is among the top 20 players in the conference in field goal percentage (.460), rebounding (6.7) and scoring (11.8) and owns five double-doubles. She earned a spot on the 2005-06 C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll. Prior to joining C-USA, Miles was a two-time All-Atlantic Sun Academic Team member.
King is a two-time Dean's List honoree that sports a 3.46 GPA in nursing. The 6-0 forward has at least doubled every statistical category from her freshman season to her sophomore campaign. She has started in over 96 percent of games she's played in and averages nearly six rebounds and seven points per game. King was clutch as she hit the game-winning free throw with no time on clock against Drake at the Caribbean Classic in November.
A three-time All-C-USA Academic Honor Roll selection, Necaise was a C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal winner in 2004. She has also appeared on the Tiger 3.0 Club six of seven semesters and Dean's List twice, while maintaining a 3.30 GPA in marketing management.
