Southern Miss Looks to Bounce Back against Spring Hill

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss (3-3) looks to get back on track this Saturday when they host NAIA's Spring Hill (5-2) for a 4:00 p.m. (CT) game at Reed Green Coliseum.
This will be the 63rd meeting between the two schools. The Golden Eagles lead the series, 45-17. Last year, Southern Miss defeated the Badgers, 113-57, in Hattiesburg. Southern Miss has won the last 13 meetings and 31 of the last 34 games.
The Golden Eagles are led by guard Jeremy Wise. The sophomore leads the team in scoring with 18.2 points per game. Right behind him is freshman R.L. Horton with 13.7, junior Courtney Beasley and sophomore Sai'Quon Stone both average 11.0. Gjio Bain leads Southern Miss on the boards, pulling down 8.2 rebounds a game.
Southern Miss is coming off a 75-68 loss at the hands of South Alabama. Horton led the Golden Eagles with 17 points, while Stone dropped in 13. Beasley added 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Spring Hill enters Saturday's contest with a 5-2 record on the year. The Badgers are led by guard Noah Woolridge. The senior currently leads the team with 17.6 points per game while grabbing 7.3 rebounds. Sophomore guard Marcus Coleman is averaging 17.3 points.
SHC is coming off a 103-66 victory over Blue Mountain. Woolridge led the Badgers with 31 points and eight boards. Cash Covington added 15 points.
The Golden Eagles return home next Saturday for a men's/women's doubleheader when they face Alabama State. Southern Miss won the only previous meeting, a 80-43 victory last year. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m. CT at Reed Green Coliseum.
