Lady Eagles Conclude Regular Season With Weekend Series Against UCF

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- - The Southern Miss volleyball team concludes their regular season, with a weekend series against UCF. The Lady Eagles travel to UCF for a Friday match, before returning home to host the Knights in the season finale on Sunday.
Southern Miss (10-20, 1-13) is coming off a 3-0 loss at East Carolina last Sunday. Angela Hlavaty led Southern Miss with 17 kills, while Morgan Johnson added 10 kills. Johnson also had five blocks.
Johnson continues to lead the Eagles with 314 kills, followed closely by Ashley Petrinec with 287. Four other players have 100 or more kills on the season, including Amanda Huntoon with 215, Angela Hlavaty 214, Mari Ruddick 178 and Cherry 142. Ivanova continues to lead the team in digs (427) and service aces (34). Neave is averaging 11.21 assist per game, but has missed the last six matches.
UCF enters the match with a 9-20 record and winless in league play, following a 3-0 loss at Marshall. Erin Campbell leads the team with 312 kills, followed by Stephanie Serna with 286. Kristen Petrasic leads the team with 282 digs and Cassie Ramaekers has 272 digs. Campbell has also recorded 271 digs. Blaire Brueggemeyer is averaging 9.61 assists per game.
Following the Friday night contest, Southern Miss returns home to host the Knights, concluding the regular season. Match time is set for 1 p.m. Following the contest, the Athletic Department will honor the four seniors - Morgan Johnson, Angela Huntoon, Mari Ruddick and Kristen Metz - in a post-match ceremony.
