Lady Eagle Volleyball Team Travels to Marshall and East Carolina

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- - The Lady Eagle volleyball team continues Conference USA play, traveling to Marshall and East Carolina for their last road weekend series.
Southern Miss (10-18, 1-11) is coming off a 3-2 loss to UAB. Ashley Petrinec led Southern Miss with 17 kills and 15 digs. Mari Ruddick chipped in 14 kills and 10 digs, while Morgan Johnson added 11 kills and 11 digs. Johnson also had eight blocks. Angela Hlavaty had 11 kills, while Maia Ivanova led the team with 21 digs. Katie Matlock registered 10 digs to go with 52 assists.
Johnson continues to lead the Eagles with 298 kills, followed closely by Ashley Petrinec with 272. Four other players have 100 or more kills on the season, including Amanda Huntoon has 209, Angela Hlavaty has 88, Mari Ruddick has 172 and Cherry 136. Ivanova continues to lead the team in digs (412) and service aces (34). Neave is averaging 11.21 assist per game.
Marshall (18-8, 11-1) comes into the match, following a 3-0 win over Houston. Kelly-Anne Billingy leads the team with 452 kills, followed by Stephanie Cahill with 337 kills. Maggie Arias leads the team digs with 396. Liz Fleming is averaging 12.88 assists per game.
East Carolina heads into the weekend with a 13-14 record and 4-8 in league play. Kelley Wernert leads the team with 525 kills, while Trish Monroe leads the team in digs with 425. Katie Koop handles the setting duties, averaging 11.77 assists per game.
Following the weekend series, Southern Miss closes out the regular season, playing at UCF on Nov. 9 before returning home to host the Knights on Nov. 11.
