* The Golden Eagles won their second straight contest and now have won all three meetings over Marshall in a series dating back to 2005.
* The 300 yards passing by Stephen Reaves was the most since Dustin Almond collected 324 against East Carolina on Oct. 1, 2005. He also connected on a school-record 85-yard touchdown pass to Torris Magee. His passing total of 310 yards is the eighth-best passing performance in the school's history.
* The Golden Eagles have thrown for over 200 yards in each the last six games. The Golden Eagles only reached that plateau once all of last season.
* Damion Fletcher recorded his sixth multi-touchdown game by tying his career-best of three rushing scores against NC State (9/16/06). He now has 20 touchdowns for his career, which ties him for 12th on the school's career chart with Hugh Laurin Pepper (1952-53). His 36-yard running score is his longest touchdown run of his career.
* Fletcher also recorded his fourth-best rushing game of his career of 152 yards, just one yard better than his 151-yard outburst against Marshall last season. He now has 12 100-yard games which put him third by himself at the school, behind Ben Garry (1974-77/17) and Derrick Nix (1998-2000, 2002/14).
* Redshirt freshman Torris Magee became the second Golden Eagle this season to go over 100 yards as he notched seven catches for a team season-best 156 yards. The previous high mark was 127 by Chris Johnson at Tennessee.
* Brandon Sumrall evidently likes playing at Marshall. The senior from Beaumont, Miss., tallied a career-best tying 15 tackles with two passes broken up. His other tackle high came two years ago in Huntington against the Thundering Herd.
* Senior offensive lineman Chris Clark tallied his 33rd straight start, the first 30 coming at left tackle with the last three at left guard.
* The Golden Eagles improved to 26-0 since 2001 when they score at least 30 points in a game.
