Women's Tennis Finishes Weekend Competition 2-0

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's tennis team finished Sunday's competition 2-0 after defeating Alcorn State and Nicholls.
The Lady Eagles began tennis action against Alcorn State, ending with a 7-0 victory. In doubles play, Stephanie Dellocono and Lauren Gutterman paired up at the No. 1 spot for an 8-0 win, while Grace Kammerer and Ali Blackett played at No. 2 for an 8-2 win. At No. 3, Natalia Parrado and Kristi Wittmann defeated Avernelle Holder and Martina Garda, 8-3.
In singles play, all Lady Eagles finished with victories. They played in the following spots: Sherry Price - No. 1, Brittany Serret - No. 2, Blackett - No. 3, Dellocono - No. 4, Kammerer - No. 5, Gutterman - No. 6.
Against Nicholls, Southern Miss finished with a 5-2 win. In doubles action, Price/Serret played at the No. 1 spot, defeating Celine Stenger and Karlyn Sissingh, 8-6. Playing at the No. 2 spot, Dellocono/Gutterman won, 8-2, while Blackett/Kammerer finished with an 8-2 win at No. 3.
In singles action, Serret, Blackett, Dellocono and Gutterman all finished with victories, while Price and Kammerer were defeated.
