HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Golden Eagle football team completed preparations for Saturday's NC State game today, with a two-hour practice in M.M. Roberts Stadium.
Head Coach Jeff Bower said the team had a good week of preparation.
"I think we had a good week," Bower said. We've just got to play hard."
Bower added that no decision has been made on who starts, either Jerome Lyons or Mitch Craft, at middle linebacker.
"I haven't talked to the coaches to make the final decision," Bower said. "It doesn't matter to me. They're both going to play."
Saturday will be the 10th meeting between Southern Miss (1-1) and NC State (1-1), with the Wolfpack holding a 5-4 series advantage. It will be third meeting between the two teams in Hattiesburg, with NC State holding a 2-0 advantage, winning 20-13 in 1960 and 14-0 in 1963.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m., in M.M. Roberts Stadium.
