HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Golden Eagle football team continued preparations for Saturday's NC State game today, with a two-hour practice in M.M. Roberts Stadium.
Practice was marred at times by hard rain, but Head Coach Jeff Bower said that the team got its full practice in.
"We got it all in," Bower said. "That was a good thing. We changed our routine halfway through practice because we thought a big storm was coming in. We shifted gears into our team period and worked our way back up. We got everything in. That was good work to get in, with the wet ball. At some point in time, you're going to play in that type of weather. It was good work for us. We got a lot done."
Still, with the rain, Bower said he'd like practice to be better tomorrow.
"Practice was ok today," Bower said. "I'd like it to be a little better tomorrow. We're still in the learning process and game planning. I think the weather we had today made us look a little sloppy. It rained pretty hard at times."
Following practice, Bower said that senior offensive lineman George Batiste (ankle) returned to practice today. He also said that a decision on who starts at middle linebacker, either Mitch Craft or Jerome Lyons, has not been made.
"I think we'll work them tomorrow, look at the practice tape and go from there," Bower said.
Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 6 p.m.
