Baseball's Maddox Named National Strength And Conditioning All-American

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Baseball senior Marc Maddox was named National Strength and Conditioning All-American today.
Maddox earns the honor for the first time in his career.
The Hattiesburg, Miss., native has a personal best bench press of 285 pounds, squat of 390 pounds, vertical jump of 30' and power clean lift of 295 pounds.
"Marc is an excellent leader," Southern Miss National Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant Jarrod Green said. "His hard work definitely shows on the field."
Maddox, who has been selected Conference USA and Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week, is hitting .274 on the season, leading the team with nine home runs, 34 RBIs, 17 walks and eight stolen bases on the year.
Southern Miss is currently 21-9 overall, 4-2 in Conference USA. The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday, facing in-state rival Ole Miss in at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Miss. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
