HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team practiced for two hours, today, at M.M. Roberts Stadium, continuing preparations for Saturday's "Battle for the Bell" with Tulane at the Louisiana Superdome at 1 p.m., CT.
Head Coach Jeff Bower said that the team's injuries are looking good, and nothing should keep any players out of the game against the Green Wave.
When asked about senior wide receiver Josh Barnes' injury situation, Bower stated that he is improving and getting better with every practice.
"He played some in the game," Bower claimed. "He looked better, and I think he'll be fine."
Bower also mentioned how pleased he is with the running back situation, despite several setbacks earlier in the season.
"The chemistry is good," Bower added. "I was glad to see Tory (Harrison) have that kind of game. It gives him some confidence, and it gives a lot of us confidence in him. Chanove ran the ball well too. I like how that position has developed, and it's looking pretty strong right now."
