HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team practiced for two hours, today, at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility, continuing preparations for Friday's Conference USA Championship game at Houston.
"I feel good, and I think we've worked hard this week," Head Coach Jeff Bower said. "I think our players are excited about this game. They've been working a long time for this opportunity, and we're looking forward to it."
Bower also stated that both teams have seen improvement since the Golden Eagles defeated the Cougars, 31-27, on October 14, and that Friday's match-up should be a tough one.
"I think our players are smart enough to realize that game was five weeks ago, and it's history," Bower added. "It's a new week and a new game. However, we're still playing the same guys, and they're a very good team that you have to get ready to play and play well."
The team returns to the practice field tomorrow to continue preparations, before traveling to Houston on Thursday.
