Ninth Diary Entry
On the mindset going into Virginia Tech:
"It's like every week. It's another game, and it's a must-win game. We prepare the same way for every team we play, no matter who it is or when we play them. We're ready to play and see how things turn out on Saturday."
On midterms:
"I don't have too many classes so it's not much of a stress on me. I'm basically finished. I have two classes that I have to pass to graduate. Everything is going good for me since I'm practically done. I wake up and come to practice; it doesn't get any better than that."
If you could be interviewed by any ESPN personality, who would it be?
"It wouldn't matter who. Just the opportunity to be interviewed by ESPN is an honor. Not too many people get that opportunity, so it really doesn't matter. I don't have a preference."
Having seen many different players come through here at Southern Miss, have any of the players this season surprised you?
"Both of our freshman running backs surprised me quite a bit, Damion Fletcher and Tory Harrison. Tory is in the position where he might have to lose his redshirt and he's properly prepared. Conrad Chanove has surprised me too. He came out and worked hard everyday and now he has the opportunity to do what he loves, which is play football. The running back situation, all together, has shocked me. I never thought it would be like that."
