Football Concludes Third Week Of Practice
The team will have the remainder of Friday and Saturday off, before returning to campus Sunday night.
Head Coach Jeff Bower said the team handled the early morning practice well.
?Practice went well,? Bower said. ?The team got up early and looked better than the coaches did.
?We did a lot of situational work, especially in our kicking game. Our offense and defense also went through a lot of situations.?
Bower said that he feels good about the team?s progress so far, and felt that the players were deserving of some time off.
?The players have worked hard,? Bower said. ?The attitude has been good. They are tired and need some time off. The players are supposed to be tired right now, and we as coaches had to push them to that point. The time off will give them a chance to take a break, get off their feet and come back ready to work on Monday.?
Southern Miss opens its season Sunday, Sept. 4, in a 3 p.m., nationally televised ESPN2 contest, in the annual ?
