Football Practice Report Day Three
Today marked the first day the team practiced in pads and shorts. Head Coach Jeff Bower said the first day in half pads went well.
?We had good work today in pads,? Bower said. ?It was physical and it was good. We want the players to be excited the first day we practice in pads. It gave us a chance to get a more realistic look at some of the drills.?
Bower also singled out the practice efforts of several players, including Antwon Courington and Terrance Ford.
?Practice is going to get to be a grind, and it should,? Bower said. ?We?ve got to have the leadership to push through it. I?ve been very proud of Antwon. I?ve never seen him work this hard. Terrance has also worked hard and has shown a lot of leadership.
?I?ve been very pleased with our veterans helping our younger players, teaching and coaching them on the field. That?s always good to see, and a good sign.?
Bower added that he also has been pleased with the progression of the newcomers, especially on the offensive line.
?I am seeing some good things from our young offensive lineman,? Bower said. ?Ryan McKee, Ryan Hebert and Sam Wilson have all been impressive. They all have ability.?
