Football Practice Report Day Two
Following the practice, Head Coach Jeff Bower praised the effort of the defense.
?I thought we had another good day today,? Bower said. ?The team pushed through the heat. The defense did a good job of creating some turnovers. We had several interceptions and forced a few fumbles. That was good to see from the defense, but not good to see from the offense.?
But Bower also thought the offense has made progress as a unit.
?They?re doing some good things,? Bower said. ?We?re making strides. We threw and caught the ball well at times today.?
Bower said that Jerome Lyons (knee) will be another month before he is able to practice. Bower added that Howard Overby (toe surgery) tweaked his toe in practice and Chaz Richards tore a peck muscle lifting weights, and will be limited in practice for the next two weeks.
The team will practice in shorts and shoulder pads on Wednesday, with the first practice in full pads set for Saturday.
?We?ll find out more about our progress tomorrow,? Bower said. ?We?re going to progress to another phase.?
