Cashion Named Conference USA Co-Pitcher of the Week
HATTIESBURG, Miss. ? Southern Miss sophomore pitcher Mike Cashion has been named the Conference USA Co-Pitcher of the Week for his performance at Memphis this past Friday. This marks the second Golden Eagle player to receive a conference player of the week honor as Marc Maddox was named conference hitter of the week last week.
Pitching his second complete game this season and third of his career, Cashion allowed one run on seven hits, walked three and struck out 10 batters. He struck out a career-high 13 in a complete-game 3-2 loss to McNeese State earlier this season.

Tulane?s pitcher Micah Owings also was named Co-Pitcher of the Week. He posted a career-high 11 strikeouts in a seven-inning start Friday night vs. UAB. He scattered four hits and a pair of walks, retiring 10 batters in a row in the middle innings for his third win of the season.
Charlotte?s Chris Taylor was named the Hitter of the Week. He had at least two hits and two RBI in all four Charlotte victories last week, going 8-for-17 (.471) with 10 RBI and seven runs scored. He homered in three-straight games, his first three collegiate home runs, and also walked three times, giving him a .550 on-base percentage.
