Charity Butler leads the team with a .352 batting average and a .421 on-base percentage, ranking second on the squad with 45 hits. Jessica Huerta is the team?s top hitter in numerous other categories, including runs (31), hits (49), triples (three), RBI (28), stolen bases (21), slugging percentage (.535) and hits by a pitch (eight). Ashley Davis has a team-best seven longballs on the season, and is tied with Jennifer Fox with 26 RBI on the year, which ranks second on the team. Melissa Prouty leads Southern Miss with 20 walks on the season.
The Lady Eagle pitching staff has an ERA of 4.03, with 26 complete games and 10 shutouts. It has allowed 349 hits, 225 runs, 179 earned, 116 walks, 166 strikeouts, while holding teams to a .280 batting average.
Krystal Crooks leads the staff with a 3.26 ERA, 10-10 record, 14 complete games and 144 innings pitched. She has given up 151 hits, 84 runs, 67 earned, walked 45, struck out 52, and holds batters to a .264 average. Wymer leads the staff with five shutouts and 95 strikeouts this season, and is coming off her best weekend as a Lady Eagle, limiting
The team's pitching staff has an ERA of 3.29, including 29 complete games and four shutouts, and has allowed 393 hits, 230 runs, 165 earned, struck out 265, walked 63, while holding teams to a .276 batting average. Jessica Denham leads the staff with a 2.77 ERA, with 16 complete games. She has allowed 173 hits, 110 runs, 65 earned, walked 32, struck out 111 and holds batters to a .263 average. Jana Jones has an 8-8 record and the team's only shutout.
Southern Miss has the weekend off, before returning to the field Wednesday, April 27, in its final non-conference series of the season, with a doubleheader against Louisiana Tech set for 5 and 7 p.m.
