The team is called the Mainz Golden Eagles, and it plays with the same black and gold colors the Southern Miss football team sports on its uniforms.

The Mainz Golden Eagles is comprised of three teams, a flag team, from ages 10-15, a tackle youth team from ages 15-19 is the tackle youth team and from 19-up is the senior contact team. It plays in a league called the Upper League 2005, with five teams in a division.
Dilg said 50 men are on the senior team, 50 on the youth team and 30 on the flag team. Each team also has a cheerleading squad.
