Football Returns To Practice Field
Head Football Coach Jeff Bower said the team showed no ill effects from the layoff in today?s fifth of the NCAA mandated 15 spring practices.
?We had a good return to the field today,? Bower said. ?That was good to see.?
Bower said James Denley suffered a high ankle sprain today. Bower also added that the NCAA denied Seth Cumbie?s waiver for a sixth year of eligibility.
?I?m disappointed,? Bower said. ?We had a legitimate case. We?re going to miss him.?
The team returns to the practice field on Friday, with additional practices set for Saturday and Sunday. Bower said the team might have a controlled scrimmage on Sunday. Spring practice will conclude with the annual Black and Gold Spring Game, Saturday, April 16, at M.M. Roberts Stadium.
