Volleyball Heads Down The Stretch With Four Straight Home Matches

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Lady Eagle volleyball team returns home to begin a four-match home series to close out the regular season.
Southern Miss enters the weekend with a 6-12 record overall and 0-11 mark in Conference USA. The team played two matches last week, a 3-2 loss at Memphis and 3-0 loss at UAB. The rescheduled match with Tulsa was cancelled after the Golden Eagles experienced travel problems.
Ashley Petrinec continues to lead the team with 195 kills, while Amanda Blunck leads the team in digs with 261, ranking among the C-USA top 10 leaders. Ednali Serralta leads the team in assists (726) and is tied for the lead in aces with 24. Morgan Johnson leads the team in total blocks with 67.
Marshall is 19-5 overall and sits atop of the leage with a 11-1 mark. Kelly-Anne Billingy leads her team with 390 kills and ranks first among the C-USA leaders in kills and second in hitting percentage. Teammate Katie Stein leads C-USA in assists, averaging 13.92 per game. Marshall leads six of the seven statistical categories in C-USA.
East Carolina is 14-10 and 5-6. Pam Ferris leads the Pirates in kills (355) and aces (32). Ferris ranks seventh in the league in kills per game. Heidi Krug ranks second in assists in C-USA statistics.
Following the East Carolina match, Southern Miss will host Florida A&M on Monday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m.
