HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team continued its preparations for Saturday's regular-season finale against Tulane today, with a two-hour practice at the Joe P. Park practice facility.
"We've had two good days of practice," Head Coach Jeff Bower said. "We've really worked hard."
Bower said the players, especially the seniors, know what's at stake in Saturday's game.
"I've said a few things to our seniors," Bower said. "Our backs are up against the wall. We've got to come out fighting and play, play, play. They know what we have to do."
Following practice, Bower said junior defensive back Caleb Hendrix did some running in practice and is "doing fine." He did not participate in any contact drills, but will play on Saturday. Bower also said that redshirt sophomore wide receiver Chris Johnson is "ok," and did more in practice today. His status remains day-to-day.
Game time for Saturday's game is 2 p.m.
