East Carolina Sweeps Southern Miss Volleyball, 3-0
GREENVILLE, N.C. --- The Southern Miss volleyball team dropped its second match during the weekend, losing to
Morgan Johnson and Ashley Petrinec led the Golden Eagles with seven kills apiece. Petrinec also recorded a team-high seven digs. Kelly Wernert led ECU with 13 kills followed by Erica Wilson with 11, Jaime Bevan and Mignon Dubenion added 10 kills each.
The Pirates out-hit the Golden Eagles .349-to-.142 on the match, including a game-high .432 hitting percentage in the final game.
The match that was previously scheduled for Oct. 11 against
Southern Miss returns to action next Friday and Sunday against Houston and Rice. That weekend also marks the volleyball portion of celebrating 30 years of Southern Miss women's athletics. Several events have been scheduled as part of the celebration for the weekend in conjunction with homecoming. All former players, coaches, managers and trainers have been invited back for the celebration.
