McCaleb tied a school record with four made field goals (45, 43, 21 and 32 yards) against the Pirates, matching Chris Seroka against
McCaleb becomes the first Golden Eagle to earn the honor this season. It also marks the second time in his career he has earned the honor, as he was also selected following the team?s

McCaleb entered 2005 on a streak of 20 consecutive field goals made in the regular-season, before he missed his first attempt of the season at
A semi-finalist for the Lou Groza Award in 2004, McCaleb had a career year last season, connecting on 16-of-19 field goals, including all 15 in the regular season, setting the school record for highest percentage made in a season (.842). His 16 field goals tied for the second-best single-season performance in school history and he leads Southern Miss with the highest percentage of career field goals made (.841). For his performance, he earned second-team All-Conference USA honors, also earning honorable-mention All-American honors by SI.com. He was also a Freshman All-American selection by The Sporting News in 2003.
In his career, McCaleb has connected on 36-of-43 field goals and 70-of-75 on extra points. He ranks No. 3 in school history in extra points.
