Football Completes UAB Preparations
Head Coach Jeff Bower said the practice week went well, even with a shorter week and no day off.
?We?ve had a good week of practice,? Bower said. ?We?ve got plan and we need to finish strong between now and game time. There?s a lot of mental work to be done, studying tape and game plan assignments. If we finish strong mentally, we?ve got a good chance at playing well. I like our game plan.?
Southern Miss enters the game with a 3-2 overall record, 2-1 mark in Conference
The team will be without leading receiver Antwon Courington for the remainder of the season, after he tore his ACL in the UCF game. Courington will have surgery on Oct. 26. But Bower said following today?s practice that the other receivers have done a good job filling the void.
?The young guys have picked it up,? Bower said. ?They did a good job this week.?
Game time on Friday is set for 7 p.m.
