Lady Eagle Volleyball Team Entertains Alabama In First Home Match

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Lady Eagle volleyball team plays its first match at home, following nine-consecutive matches on the road.
Southern Miss is coming off a 3-0 loss to Florida A&M. Leslie VanDuinen led Southern Miss with nine kills, while Amy Truong led the team with eight digs.
VanDuinen continues to lead the team in kills with 103, while Stephens leads the team in blocks with 49. Blunck leads the team in digs with 123.
Alabama, riding a three-match win streak, comes in with an 11-1 record that included an eight-match win streak to start the season.
The Crimson Tide has three players with 125 or more kills. Erin Heffner leads team with 269 kills followed by Crystal Hudson and Julie Farley with 130 and 125, respectively. Jessica Yearout leads the team in digs with 162.
This is the 16th meeting between the two teams and Southern Miss leads 8-7.
Following the Alabama match, Southern Miss hits the road, again, beginning Conference USA play at Houston and TCU, Oct. 1 and Oct. 2.
