Golden Eagles Have Good Showing In First Day Action
Reid Bourgeois defeated the No. 4 seed Juan Pablo Vidour of Shorter, 2-6, 6-3, retired. Tommy Oston defeated Dirk Prinsloo of UT-Martin, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 and lost to Arturo Navarro of UT-Chattanooga, 6-4, 6-1.
Juan Gazon recorded two wins, defeating Kieran Ricci of
Dylan Mezey lost to Andrew Aruores of
Marc Lux also posted two wins, defeating Adrian Laza of Shorter, 6-1, 6-0, and Michael Barber of Wofford, 6-0, 6-1.
In doubles, Reid and Oston defeated Barlow and Richard Chi of Wofford, 8-4, but lost to Andre Maier and Sebastian Falk of UAB, 8-2. Mezey and Lux lost to Brent Johnson and Andrew Stubbs of Wofford, 8-4.
The Golden Eagles continue action on Saturday.
