Southern Miss Plays Ninth-straight Match on the Road HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss Lady Eagle volleyball team travels to Tallahassee, Fla., for a match against Florida A&M. This is the ninth-consecutive road match for Southern Miss. Southern Miss is coming off a 3-1 loss at New Orleans Monday, in a rescheduled match. Leslie VanDuinen led Southern Miss with a double-double, 13 kills and 14 digs, while Jazzmien Stephens added 11 kills. Amanda Blunck notched a team-high 15 digs. Stephens also recorded seven blocks. VanDuinen continues to lead the team in kills with 94, while Stephens leads the team in blocks with 46. Blunck leads the team in digs with 120. Florida A&M comes in with a 4-2 record that included a victory over then-ranked No. 2 Nebraska. FAMU has not played since Sept. 12, however, the Lady Rattlers will play Georgia State, Sept. 23. FAMU is listed at 27 in the latest USA Today/CSTV Top 25 Coaches Poll. Adriana Kostadinova leads the team in kills with 110 kills, while Andreina Ruiz leads the team in digs with 80. Mariela Portocarrero has recorded 231 assists. This is the first meeting between the two teams. Following the FAMU match, Southern Miss returns home to play its first home match of the season against Alabama, Sept. 28. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
