Southern Miss Volleyball Team Loses to New Orleans, 3-1

Amanda Blunck notched a team-high 15 digs

NEW ORLEANS, La. ? The Southern Miss Lady Eagle volleyball team lost their third straight match Monday night against New Orleans, 3-1 (25-30, 13-30, 30-25, 25-30), falling to 3-5.

Leslie VanDuinen led the Lady Eagles with 13 kills and Jazzmein Stephens added 11 kills, while Amanda Blunck notched 15 digs and Amy Truong had 14. UNO placed four players in double-digit kills, led by Jennifer Cruz with 18, Hillary Carr had 16, Christine Zimmer had 14 and Jessica Helgeson added 13. Jayne Duncan registered a match-high 26 digs and Zimmer also had 20 digs.

UNO (7-2) out-hit Southern Miss .206 to .118. Southern Miss finished the match with 17 total blocks,

Southern Miss travels to Tallahassee, Fla., for a match against Florida A&M, Sept. 25, before returning home to play its first home match against Alabama, Sept. 28.
