Football Continues Tulane Preparations

HATTIESBURG, Miss.? The Southern Miss football team continued its preparations for Tulane, its first Conference USA opponent of the season, with a two-and-a-half-hour practice at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility today.

Southern Miss has not played since defeating Nebraska, 21-17, in Lincoln, Neb., Sept. 11.

The Golden Eagles continued to finalize the Tulane game plan, as the team worked on phases of the special teams, while the offense and

Head Football Coach Jeff Bower said that practice will be crucial for the remainder of the week.

?We?ve got to continue to make improvements,? Bower said. ?We were not sharp on offense today. The next two days will be important, as we prepare for the first Conference USA game of the season.?

Southern Miss will face Tulane, Saturday, at 7 p.m., in the New Orleans, La. Superdome.
