Boley and Eubanks Named To All-American Teams

HATTIESBURG, Miss.? Southern Miss senior linebacker Michael Boley was named a second-team All-American linebacker by both The Associated Press and CollegeFootballNews.com. Junior kickoff returner John Eubanks was named an honorable-mention All-American by CollegeFootballNews.com.            

"This is a great honor, not only for me, but for Southern Miss," Boley said. "There are a lot of outstanding players in the nation, and to be selected as one of the best players in the country is truly an honor. This honor also is a tribute to my defensive teammates who also have worked hard and have given a lot to our program."

This marks the sixth All-American team Boley has been selected to, as he was tabbed a first-team All-American by Cingular/ABC Sports (FWAA) and a second-team All-American by The Sporting News, SI.com and the Walter Camp Football Foundation.

Boley, Conference USA?s Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time First Team All-Conference USA selection, ranks third in Conference USA in tackles (117) and second in the nation in forced fumbles (5).  He has 16 tackles for loss and seven sacks on the year and ranks third on the Southern Miss career list for sacks. Boley holds the school record with nine forced fumbles. A four-time C-USA Defensive Player of the Week this season, Boley was this year?s recipient of the Conerly Trophy, given to the top player in the state of Mississippi.
