?I thought we got off to a great start and played well in the first five minutes of the game and the last five minutes of the game,? Southern Miss Lady Eagle Head Basketball Coach Joye Lee McNelis said. ?When you start strong and finish strong and you get beat, something happened in between. I believe if you play the right 20 minutes of the game, you can win.
?We came up short tonight because we game them 40 free possessions, 17 offensive rebounds and 23 turnovers,? McNelis said. ?You can?t beat a team that is a seasoned team when you give them 40 free possessions. When you do that, you didn?t pay attention to detail. Every time we did not box out, they got an offensive rebound and we fouled. We need to pay attention to detail, meaning boxing out and rebounding. We got rattled and need to hang on to the ball and run our offense. If we can improve in those two areas, boxing out and rebounding, we can make strides this season.?
