Southern Miss Continues Homestand HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Lady Eagle volleyball team returns to Conference USA action, hosting Memphis and Saint Louis in a weekend series, Friday and Saturday, in the Payne Center at 7 p.m., both nights. Southern Miss is coming off a 3-0 win over in-state rival Alcorn State, snapping a seven-match losing streak. Senior Kate Juedes recorded a career and match-high 12 aces. Jazzmien Stephens led the team with 15 kills, and Amy Truong added nine kills. The Lady Eagles finished the match with 20 aces, just one shy of tying a 15-year old school record of 21 aces. Stephens leads the team in kills (123) and total blocks (62). Truong continues to lead the team in assists and is second on the team in digs (146), while Amanada Blunck leads the team in digs (65). Memphis comes in with a 16-4 and 1-0 record, following a 3-2 win over Saint Louis. The Lady Tigers are riding a nine-match win streak. Tiara Gilkey leads the team with 286 kills and 242 digs. Heather Watts has recorded 962 assists. This is the 26th meeting between the two teams, and Memphis leads 14-11. Saint Louis is 8-9 and 0-1, following the loss against Memphis. Aida Antanvicuite leads the Billikens with 380 kills, and Chrissy King leads the team in digs. This is the 10th meeting between the two teams, and Saint Louis leads 7-2. Following the weekend series, Southern Miss will host South Alabama on Oct. 12, in the Payne Center. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
