Balanced Offense Leads Southern Miss To 14th Win
HAMMOND, La. -- Southern Miss' Nicki Tribble recorded a match-high 25 kills and added 21 digs to lead four players with double-doubles as the Golden Eagles fought off a resilient Southeastern Louisiana with a 30-23, 24-30, 30-26, 30-23 victory here Tuesday evening at the University Center.
Andrea Bush added 19 kills and 18 digs for Southern Miss (14-2), while Bridget Files had 15 kills and 26 digs. Lady Eagle setter Amy Truong also posted a double-double for USM with a match-high 62 assists and 17 digs.
Southeastern (6-6) which was led by Keri Hamblin's career-high 18 kills. Juliana Neves added 13 kills and 10 digs for Southeastern while Luciana Neves had 10 kills. Katie Griffin dished out a career-high 43 assists for the Lady Lions and Sarah Gascon posted a match-high 29 digs.
Southern Miss returns home to host both Tulane and Alcorn State in the Southern Miss Tri-Match on Saturday. The event will be held at the USM Payne Center.
