Lady Eagle Volleyball Wins Seventh Straight
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Southern Miss Lady Eagle volleyball team continued its winning ways Friday, taking a 3-0 victory over McNeese State in the Air Force Invitational Tournament in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The Lady Eagles (8-1) and Head Coach Santiago Restrepo won their seventh-straight match (30-20, 30-21, 30-26), tying the best win streak in school history. The Cowgirls fell to 1-6 with the loss.
The senior trio of Nicki Tribble, Bridget Files and Andrea Bush again paced the Southern Miss attack, with Tribble leading the way as she scored 16.5 points, including 12 kills. Files followed with 13.0 points in the contest, while Bush added 10.5 points. Setter Amy Truong picked up 32 assists in the game and also led the team with five service aces.
For McNeese State, Tiffany Rose and Marquita Williams both had a team-high 13.5 points.
Southern Miss continues play in the tournament on Saturday, facing Navy at 9 a.m., and Air Force at 7 p.m.
