Lady Eagle Volleyball Team Adds Signee
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss Head Volleyball Coach Santiago Restrepo announced the addition of volleyball player Amanda Schrader of Geneva, Ill., during the spring signing period.
Schrader, a 5-11 setter/right side hitter, comes to Southern Miss after one season at North Texas State, where she played in 33 matches. She finished the 2002 season with 259 digs (2.25 digs per game) and 22 aces. She prepped at Geneva High School, where she was her team captain and was named her team's MVP for three seasons. The Suburban Prairie Red All-Conference selection helped her team win two-straight conference titles. She was selected to play in the 2001 Illinois Pepsi All-Star Classic Tournament. She was a member of the Sports Performance 17-1 AAU national championship team.
"Amanda will add depth to our defensive system," Restrepo said. "She also will see action as our backup setter."
