Unfortunately, good preparation wasn't what Bower saw from his team in Tuesday afternoon's practice at M.M. Roberts Stadium.
"We're not as sharp as we need to be offensively," Bower said. "Our concentration isn't there. We dropped too many passes. We need to pick things up."
The Golden Eagles (8-3, 7-0 in Conference USA) can win the league title outright with a victory over the Pirates on Saturday. But Bower hopes that his team improves in its focus for the game.
"We didn't have it today," Bower said of the team's focus. "It's not as good as it needs to be."
Kickoff for the game is slated for 1 p.m., in Greenville, N.C.
