Tribble Named Volleyball Full-Time Assistant Coach
HATTIESBURG, Miss. ? Southern Miss Volleyball Coach Santiago Restrepo has announced Kelly Tribble as a full-time assistant coach. The former Lady Eagle volleyball player served last season as a graduate assistant coach.
?We got the best candidate for the job because she has been with the program for over four years,? said Restrepo, who finished his second season as coach of the Lady Eagles last fall. ?Kelly is going to be a great recruiter with her enthusiasm, love and passion for the game.
?She will be able to attract players to the program. I am very pleased Kelly has accepted this position because she is very dedicated and hardworking, and this is what this program needs.?
Tribble was a four-year starter from 1998-2001, leading the team in kills, service aces and blocks the last two years of her career. She ranks among the top 10 leaders in several statistical categories.
?I?m very excited about having the opportunity to stay here and coach at my alma mater,? said Tribble. ?I feel very fortunate and lucky to work with Coach Restrepo and learn from him.?
