Lady Eagles Lose Close One to Arkansas, 3-2
The Lady Eagles held off Arkansas, winning the first game, 30-28, but Arkansas came back to even the match at one-game a piece, claiming a 30-27 victory in game two.
Southern Miss took control of game three, winning 30-23, but the Lady Backs, won the fourth game with the identical score, 30-23.
Arkansas dominated in game five, winning 15-9. Southern Miss hit only .059, while Arkansas hit .316.
Southern Miss had two players record double-doubles, with Bush leading the way a game-high 29 kills and 14 digs and Nicki Tribble had 21 kills and 11 digs. Bridget Files added 11 kills and Amy Truong had 10 kills for the Eagles. Brynn Olsson had a game-high 21 digs.
Jennifer Haaser led Arkansas with 20 kills, as the Lady Backs remained undefeated, 7-0, on the season.
Southern Miss (5-3) returns to action, Sept. 13-14, in the Denver Tournament. The Eagles will face Montana State, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m., followed by Denver at 5 p.m., and conclude with Frenso State, Sept. 14, at 5 p.m.
