Files Receives Conference USA Player of the Week Honor

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Junior middle blocker Bridget Files was named Conference USA Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 29. Files posted two double-double performances, tallying 30 kills, 22 digs, six blocks and four aces to lead the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 record last week. In the Conference opener over UAB, she recorded 18 kills and added 12 digs, while notching a .405 hitting percentage. For the week, she averaged 4.29 kills per game and 3.14 digs per game. She also posted an attack percentage of .371 with only seven hitting errors in 62 attempts.

Files, a native of Ramona, Calif., leads the team in aces and blocks and is second on the team in kills. She has moved into the top 20 in career block solos, block assists and total blocks.
